Waukegan Mayor Sam Cunningham Normalized the Same Type of Political Violence He Claims to Oppose When it is Practiced by I.C.E. (800th Post!)

I. Introduction

The following speech is an address, regarding immigration, which I delivered to the Waukegan City Council on October 20th, 2025.
Portions of this speech were omitted from the live version of the address, in order to fit into the three-minute time period which is allotted to people who provide public comments to that body.

II. Speech

I rise this evening to speak about the subject of immigration.
If you compare America’s population density to the rest of the world, you will find that our population would have to grow by 183 million people, before we reach the world average, and before we could reasonably say that we are overcrowded.
We have plenty of room for immigrants.

The amount of wealth that undocumented immigrants take out of the welfare system, has been estimated at $150 billion per year. According to my own estimates, this is the exact same amount of wealth which is stolen from immigrants, through wage theft, each year.
Immigrants do not cause a net loss to the American taxpayer. We can afford to “take care of immigrants”; in fact, we take care of them just as much as they take care of us.

The immigrants who supposedly “steal Social Security numbers” are only doing so because having a Social Security number is the only way to work legally.
Moreover, the border officials who want immigrants out, are effectively trapping immigrants here at the end of harvest season, making it impossible to leave. Those officials are the reason why most immigrants are here illegally; not the immigrants themselves.
People are not automatically criminals just because they are here without permission. Overstaying a visa creates no victim; and if there is no victim, then there is no crime. Only violent immigrants should be deported.

Waukegan’s diversity is its greatest strength. Although Latinos are underrepresented, on the city council, by sixteen percent, I think it is a beautiful thing that Waukegan has three white, three black, and three Hispanic aldermen, without any racial quotas needing to be enshrined in the law in order to achieve this outcome.
I praise the Lake County Board’s decision to ban federal agents from using county property to conduct immigration enforcement operations, I reject all attempts to pit blacks against Latinos, and citizens against undocumented immigrants; and all attempts to turn this country into a fascist dictatorship based on the legitimization of political violence, no matter who is doing it.

Which is precisely why I
cannot support Mayor Sam Cunningham’s attempts to posture as a hero who is protecting people from arrest by I.C.E..

Before I continue, I must say this:
The U.S. Supreme Court held – in the 1983 case of Connick v. Myers – that criticizing public officials is part of our freedom of speech. So I will thank you all to stop cautioning people who speak here against criticizing city employees.

Let’s face it: We have a mayor who
kind of likes to beat people up. This is not hyperbole, nor slander; I personally watched the mayor poke my friend in the chest – causing him to fall to the ground – on July 17th, 2021.
I should have defended him from you. And I would have been within my legal rights to do so. I regret not doing so every day. That is a decision that I will never get back.

This mayor’s violent behavior, at the
local level, has normalized the same kind of thuggery which we have seen coming out of the Trump Administration at the federal level.
You have given us a choice; between having the right boot on our necks, and having the left boot on our necks.
I don’t want any boots on my neck. I can’t breathe.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.

Mr. Mayor, the people are catching on. Your days in politics are numbered.
If you continue serving in office, you will destroy the credibility of not only yourself, but also your supporters (for being foolish enough to trust you) in the process.
If you care about your constituents, then please retire now.

Now, I am not stupid enough to threaten a public official. But what I will say is this: Are you gonna beat me up too? No? Too many witnesses? That's what I thought.
     Happy National Bullying Prevention Month.

Shepard Middle School Supporters Lament Supposed Destruction of Lake County, Illinois "Community" That Never Existed in the First Place

I. Introduction

The following is my sixth speech to the Illinois District 109 Board of Education, which governs Alan B. Shepard Middle School in Deerfield, Illinois.
It is a commentary on the February 2025 actions of administrators at Shepard Middle School, who coerced a group of thirteen-year-old cisgender girls into changing clothes in front of a student who was born male but identifies as transgender.

The majority of this speech was delivered live, at the regular monthly meeting of that body, on October 16th, 2025.
Some portions of this speech were omitted in order to fit into the three-minute time limit which are allotted to speakers for public comments.

II. Speech

Several months ago, one of your students asked critics of your locker room policy why we couldn’t simply ask for a private meeting with staff members, instead of airing our grievances in public.
The reason, of course, is to subject staff members to the same kind of public humiliation to which you subjected the girls whom you made change in front of a male student.
Maybe now, after hearing the critiques of you and your policy, over the last eight months, you are closer to understanding how those girls felt, and why they and their families objected so strongly.
In enforcing this policy, you indicated that it’s fine to subject thirteen-year-olds to public humiliation and to (more or less) public nudity. Which means that you would have little basis from which to claim that it would be wrong to subject you - adults (who, unlike children, can take care of yourselves) - to the same type of treatment.
I’m sure that you have experienced online bullying as part of the fallout from supporting this policy. But you are very lucky that nobody has come up here, and ordered you to take your clothes off (as one woman did, in another district with a similar policy).

In April or May, a gentleman wearing a suit, spoke here, and said something like, “Outsiders are coming into our community, and destroying it. They don’t pay taxes here, so they should not have a voice. They are attacking our greatest strength… Our diversity.”
Let me tell you a little bit about the “community” that we have here in Lake County, Illinois. As a reminder, I grew up in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, which are just five and ten miles away.

When I was six, my parents let me and my brother set up a tent in our backyard. Just after we fell asleep, our parents heard two gunshots in the distance, and made us sleep inside.
A day or two later, a Lake Bluff police officer came to my kindergarten class, to explain what the police do. I asked “Gunshots were heard, the other night, near 524 East Washington Avenue. Do you know anything about that?” He didn’t know what I was talking about.
Then I asked whether anyone’s phone number started with 9-1-1. I wanted to know whether there was a chance that somebody could dial 9-1-1 by accident.  Sure, using the word “prefix” would have helped, if I had known it. But either way, he didn’t know what I was talking about.
The cops, here, are dumber than a six-year-old kid. That’s your “community”.

When I was eight or nine, I got a paper-cut, and went to the school nurse to ask for a bandage. Despite the fact that the school could obviously afford it – and that it would have made me feel better - she said no.

When I was twelve or thirteen, a parent in the area – Diane M. Ross – was found to have been sending child sexual abuse images over the internet. Principal (and later mayor) Kathleen o’Hara declined to convene a town meeting, to discuss the incident, despite the fact that Ross had been released, after her arrest, and was seen at an event, in the Lake Bluff town square, by concerned parents, milling about – near children – as if nothing had happened.

On and off, between 1976 and 2023, L.F.H.S. teacher David Miller sexually abused multiple teenage boys. He was only arrested once, and was never sentenced to jail or prison, during that forty-seven year period.
And Ross and Miler are just the tip of the iceberg. Charles Ritz, Cynthia Martin, Jonathan Dick… I could go on.

In the 2010s, three teenage boys threw themselves in front of trains in Lake Forest.
Gee, I wonder why they wouldn’t want to live in a town that protects child molesters!

This is the “community” that I – and other critics of your policy – am “attacking”, when I caution you not to add to the anxiety of the people who live here, and to refrain from forcing underage girls to undress in front of a male.

Lake County, Illinois had no community to destroy, to begin with.
The only community value that Lake County has, is the “conspiracy of silence”, which asserts that this is such a perfect place, that no child ever needs to worry about being sexually abused.
Which makes it the perfect place, full of unsuspecting people, of whom child abusers can easily take advantage. We’ve been lulled into a false sense of security.
If this is what you call “a community”, then it deserved to be destroyed.

This is why what you have done here, with the locker room policy, is so dangerous.
You made it even easier to abuse and spy on kids here.

What you did in February should haunt you for the rest of your lives, and no amount of education will make up for it.

Shepard Middle School and Transgender Ideology Enable Sterilization and Conversion Therapy for Gays

 I. Introduction

The following is the speech that I delivered to the regular monthly meeting of the Illinois District 109 Board of Education on Thursday, September 18th, 2025.

This was the fifth address that I gave, live and in person, to that body, which governs Alan B. Shepard Middle School.

In February 2025, staff members at that school were accused of forcing (or attempting to force) a group of thirteen-year-old girls to undress in a locker room, possibly within view of a student who was born male but now identifies as transgender.

II. Speech

Last month I told you why using strangers to enforce the policy to allow students to use locker rooms corresponding with the gender with which they identify, constitutes a forcible transfer of children from one protected group (parents) to another group (the schools operated by the state), [which] resembles genocide.

I wanted to come back, to explain why (I think) this is not just hyperbole.

You may recall reading that some of the books which the Nazis burned, were books about gender. You might think, “Well, the only reason they would have done that, is because they hated transgender people. Right?”

Not exactly. It’s not that simple.

The Nazis burned books about gender because those books gave homosexuals a way to stop being homosexual (that is, by changing their gender).

How is this anything other than “conversion therapy” (a practice which is usually opposed by homosexuals, because it tries to change the nature of who they are)?

Think about it. We tell gay teens, “Oh, you’re a boy, but you also like boys? Hey, wait, you know who else likes boys? Girls! Maybe you’re really a girl!” The line of thinking here really is that stupid.

But back to my point: Gays in Nazi Germany who agreed to try to transition, were, in one way, defying the Nazis, but in another very important way, they were doing exactly what the Nazis wanted them to do: Ceasing to be homosexual, and sterilizing themselves so they couldn’t go on to reproduce.

     It’s Nazi collaboration through submission.

If you read the Cornell Law Dictionary’s definition of genocide, you’ll see that attempting to interfere with - or limit[ing] - a group of people’s ability to reproduce, is one of its components.

If you’re thinking “Well, that’s only one component out of six”, you’re wrong. That’s because you also support forcible transfer of children from one group to another, and also because you only have to commit one of these acts in order to commit attempted genocide.

You’re also probably not aware that genital surgery has been done on kids as young as seventeen, double mastectomies on kids as young as thirteen, and hormone-emitting devices installed in the arms of eleven- and twelve-year-old girls, surgically, while they scream.

Another one of these acts that you committed, was “causing… mental harm”. You certainly made the girls in the locker room suffer mental harm. In fact, I worry that some of them might become permanently deterred from having families, after the inappropriate attention which was placed on them by your employees.

But I will not insist that my fear is true, baselessly; unlike your acolytes, who have repeatedly insisted, to children, that, for someone who’s “gender-questioning”, the only alternative to transitioning… is suicide. What conclusion do you think kids will draw from this? What do you think they’re gonna do after you tell them this?

There’s an internet gang called 764 Group. It goes online and encourages children to self-harm and kill themselves. You are not better than this group.
